The bison is the purest metaphor for resilience in nature. when the storms approach the upper plains, the bison is the only animal that turns and faces the storm and runs into it. all other animals continue to attempt to outrun the storm. as a result of the bison’s decision it gets through the storm in 1/3 of the time the other animals do.
